Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 August 2026
Mandali is operated by Sunday Fruit Club (“Mandali,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), based in India. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Mandali website, mobile app, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. What Mandali is
Mandali helps neighbours buy fresh produce and groceries together as a group (a “Mandali”), at wholesale-style prices, by pooling individual orders into a shared campaign. A campaign is organised by a “Captain” — a community member, not a Mandali employee — who sets up the campaign, coordinates with the supplier, and hands out goods at an agreed pickup point and time.
Mandali provides the platform that connects buyers and Captains, and is not itself the seller of the produce or groceries. Captains are responsible for the accuracy of what they list and for fulfilling pickups; Mandali is not a party to the underlying sale between a buyer and a Captain/supplier.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under Indian law to use Mandali. You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (name, contact details, pickup location) and for keeping your account credentials secure. Accounts are managed through our authentication provider, Clerk; notify us immediately at hello@mymandali.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
3. Pledges, payment, and pickup
Joining a campaign by placing a “pledge” is a commitment to buy the pledged quantity at the stated price once the campaign reaches its target. During the current pilot, Mandali does not process online payments — you pay the Captain in cash at pickup, once you collect your order. Mandali does not hold or transmit your payment and is not a payment processor for these transactions.
You’re expected to collect and pay for what you’ve pledged within the pickup window shown in the app. Repeated no-shows may limit your ability to pledge on future campaigns. If a campaign doesn’t reach its target, or a Captain is unable to fulfil it, your pledge is cancelled and no payment is owed.
4. Becoming a Captain
Captains are independent community organisers, not agents or employees of Mandali. If you run a campaign, you’re responsible for representing the product, price, and pickup details accurately, for sourcing in good faith, and for being reasonably available to hand out orders during the pickup window. Mandali may remove a campaign or suspend a Captain’s ability to run campaigns for conduct that breaches these Terms or harms buyer trust.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- List or misrepresent products you don’t intend to fulfil;
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defraud, or mislead others;
- Attempt to circumvent, probe, or disrupt the security or normal operation of the Service;
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute data from the Service without our written permission;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
6. Communications
By using Mandali, you agree to receive transactional messages related to your account, pledges, and campaigns — for example pickup reminders — over WhatsApp, SMS, push notification, and in the app. These are operational, not marketing, messages, and are covered by the channel consent you give at sign-up or in Settings, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting your ability to use the Service.
7. Intellectual property
The Mandali name, logo, and app are owned by Sunday Fruit Club. You may not use them without our prior written consent. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as a campaign description or a support message), and grant us a licence to use it to operate and improve the Service.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is.” Mandali facilitates connections between buyers and Captains but doesn’t guarantee product quality, availability, or that a campaign will reach its target. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mandali’s liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount (if any) you paid to Mandali directly in the twelve months before the claim — cash paid to a Captain at pickup is not a payment to Mandali.
9. Termination and account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Danger zone in the app, or by emailing hello@mymandali.com. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you delete your account.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and grievance redressal
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [City], [State] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service. In accordance with applicable Indian consumer-protection and IT rules, you can reach our grievance officer at hello@mymandali.com with any complaint; we aim to acknowledge it within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days.
